ICSI
A precision fertilization technique for male-factor infertility, performed under our embryologists’ direct supervision.

ICSI Treatment in Baleswar
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is a specialized form of IVF in which a single, healthy sperm is selected and injected directly into an egg using a fine glass needle under a microscope. It’s most often recommended for severe male infertility, very low sperm count, poor motility, or abnormal morphology, where natural fertilization is unlikely to succeed on its own.

A microscopic technique that fertilizes an egg by directly injecting a single sperm, bypassing natural barriers to fertilization.

Sperm Selection Technology

Embryologist Expertise
ICSI requires a steady hand and precise lab conditions, our team is trained specifically in this technique.
Success & Achievements

When Is ICSI Recommended?
ICSI is often recommended alongside IVF when semen analysis shows very low sperm count, poor motility, abnormal shape, or when previous IVF attempts resulted in failed fertilization. It’s also used with surgically retrieved sperm (from procedures like TESA/PESA) for men with obstructive azoospermia. Because the technique demands precision, we perform it under controlled lab conditions with continuous quality checks at every step.

FAQ
How is ICSI different from standard IVF?
ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is an advanced Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) performed in our modern IVF laboratory. It involves the precise selection of a single healthy sperm, which is then injected directly into a mature egg to maximize the chances of fertilization.
Who is ICSI recommended for?
The overall patient experience is identical to IVF. The difference happens in our embryology lab: instead of mixing sperm and eggs in a dish and allowing fertilization to happen naturally (standard IVF), our embryologists manually inject a single sperm directly into the egg using specialized microscopic equipment.
How long does the ICSI treatment take?
Because ICSI is performed as part of an IVF cycle, the entire process takes about 4 to 6 weeks from the start of ovarian stimulation to embryo transfer.
How many hospital visits will I need?
You can expect about 5 to 8 hospital visits during your cycle for ultrasound monitoring, hormone tracking, egg retrieval, and embryo transfer.
Is the ICSI procedure invasive?
For the female partner, the process is exactly the same as IVF and is considered minimally invasive. The egg retrieval is performed under light sedation. For the male partner, providing a sample is non-invasive, though in severe cases, minor surgical sperm retrieval may be needed.
Does Pratiksha Fertility have the technology for ICSI?
Yes. Our modern, quality-controlled embryology lab in Balasore is fully equipped for ICSI. We utilize advanced technologies like Blastocyst Culture, Time-Lapse Embryo Monitoring, and DNA Fragmentation Testing to select the best possible sperm and ensure healthy embryo development.
